BIO

Jamel is a man who lives by the motto: "To whom much is given, much is required." Born and raised in Chicago, Jamel knew at very young age that he wanted to do great things.  A natural born leader and performer, he was head male dancer with the Kids From Beasley Performing Arts ensemble that led him to an opportunity with the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.  Jamel also became section leader for his high school's concert choir, where he led solos at the Chicago Theater.  As he matriculated through school, he always found a way to perform and lead.

He attended Howard University. While at Howard, Jamel had the distinct pleasure of being named Mr. Howard University. This opportunity allowed Jamel to create a mentorship initiative for young inner-city males that he continues to this day, entitled ROC - Restoring Our Character.

Jamel is now using his talents as an entertainer, educator, and creator. He is the host of Made in America, a video column in MADE magazine, where you can find him voicing his views on pop culture and politics. Jamel is also the creator of ForTheCLTR, a content series that touches on topics of political and social change that is important to his generation. You can also catch Jamel on a mic as a party host,  bringing energy and entertainment to events in NYC, Chicago, DC, and LA.  He is remaining steadfast in creativity, performance, technology, politics and the mobilization of the millennial generation.
